The meaning of ordination. Monks and nuns are those who have ordained, so what is the meaning of "monastic life", do you remember? If a monastic does not know the meaning of ordination, it is a huge omission. When leaving home, we are always taught, leaving home has three meanings: 1. Out of the secular world. 2. Export afflictions. 3. Export the three worlds. What is Secular Exodus? First of all, the secular family. When we make a vow to shave our hair and leave home as novices, from that day on we have to leave the secular home. The secular house is the house of parents and siblings. If the elderly, then the home of the descendants. Why do we have to get out of that house? Because in the secular home, defilements still surround, cannot be removed. Those who have a mind to leave home must have a strong will to go out of the house to forget all the entanglements in the family. Only in this way can we attain liberation. That is to say young people. What Is The Exorcism Of The Family? ♦ To the second meaning is to come out of the family of afflictions, ie out of the house of afflictions. Are monks and nuns currently ordained out of the house of affliction? The monastic is out of the house of affliction. And the affliction is not called renunciation. Because tomorrow we will become teachers to teach people, guide the future, if we are still full of troubles, who will we teach? Therefore, monastics must cleanse their defilements, only to teach others to cleanse their defilements. If I get dirty and tell people to stay clean, they will never listen to me. On the contrary, people also ask the question: Are you clean, but tell us to be clean? Until then, what do I say? ♦ Here I am only talking about the afflictions of the three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion, are you clean yet? Only greed, hatred and ignorance is not clean, so what are more subtle things to say. In the A-Ham Sutra recounts, One day the Buddha called the Bhikkhu-stilts to say: - Monks, if in your room three poisonous snakes entered, would you sleep peacefully? The Bhikkhu-stilts said: - World-Honored One, we cannot sleep peacefully. Buddha asked: - How do you sleep peacefully? "World-Honored One, as long as we can drive those three poisonous snakes out of the room, we will sleep peacefully. Buddha said: - Likewise, although those three snakes are poisonous, they only bite to death this one body. The three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion kill people for countless lifetimes. ♦ Greed for hatred and delusion is more poisonous than a poisonous snake. Knowing that, do we dare to keep it in the house anymore. Are you currently holding or evicting? Venomous snakes are in the house, sometimes they don't want to chase them but they keep them. It is extremely unethical. Even just one can't sleep peacefully, let alone three. Why is it stubborn or because I love it? ♦ There are many people who get angry and yell, and others advise why the teacher is so hot, then they say: "He did that, it's so annoying, how can he not get angry?" "Disgusting" or "infuriating" is to say that one's anger is right. Thus, I harbor anger in my heart, not willing to chase it away. Isn't that raising poisonous snakes? If you don't love it, when reminded, you will wake up: "Ah, I forgot. Well, I don't dare do that again." That's the new bravery, called chasing three poisonous snakes out of the house. ♦ As long as there is greed, hatred, and delusion, we are still tossing and turning, uncomfortable in our hearts. So why not chase it away? Use all your mind, try your best to chase, never laugh when you see three poisonous snakes sleeping in the house. Knowing that there are poisonous snakes in the house and still smiling happily, Is that smart or stupid? - Foolish. Because of our ignorance, we harbor the three poisons. As long as there is one child, one child in the house, that day is still insecure and afraid. ♦ Today, we cultivators see someone who is sad or suffering, and advises them, their mouth is very good, but when it comes to their turn, they are as sad as anyone else. That is shameful. We are teachers but not qualified, qualified to teach people, isn't that a shame? Therefore, all monks and nuns must see and know their responsibilities, and cannot neglect to nurture defilements in their hearts. ♦ Sometimes we even find excuses for our bad. When something makes us angry loudly, we blame it: "Because they don't listen to them when they talk quietly, they are forced to shout. Shout to scare them!” Actually, I don't know if it's "forced" or angry. We are hot, Can't help but shout loudly, don't force anything. He also borrowed the argument that the Bodhisattva scolded people because of great compassion, so I am the same. It's sinful. The Buddha taught us to give up greed, hatred, and delusion when he himself had eliminated it. That's why we follow and pay homage to Him. If the Buddha was still greedy for anger and delusion, we would not have followed him or bowed down to him. In the A-ham Sutra recounts, one day the Buddha went to teach the area according to the Brahmin religion, he saved a large number of people to practice Buddhism. The brahmin teacher in that area lost all his true religion and immediately became angry. One day, he waited for the Buddha to hold his bowl for alms, then followed him and cursed. He cursed from the beginning to the end of the road, but the Buddha still walked leisurely, without answering at all. So angry, he stopped the Buddha and asked: - Gotama, are you deaf? Buddha replied: – No. I'm not deaf. - Not deaf, why do I curse Him, He doesn't answer? Buddha said: – If you have a gift to give people, but people don't accept it, who does that gift belong to? - If I give a gift and people don't accept it, the gift belongs to me, not to anyone. Buddha said: - Also, if you curse me but I don't accept it, it has nothing to do with it. ♦ Hearing that, the Brahmin quietly left. Thanks to that, we now bow to the Buddha. If at that time the Buddha had resisted the Brahmin, we would not have bowed to him today. Let's not say it's cursing now, just hearing the frazzled brothers is already uncomfortable, already suspicious. So I have to stop and eavesdrop to see if my name is on it? If you get stuck, you know. So do you have to find a job to worry about? People don't call out my name, don't speak directly to my face, but I eavesdrop and then things happen. It is so far away from what the Buddha taught, so far away as a monastic. A cultivator is one who sets aside meaningless words, Don't worry about bad things, to focus all your energy on spiritual practice. That way, I hope there will be a day when there will be an end of troubles and a day of liberation. And if we get too attached, how can we get rid of our afflictions? If the affliction is not over, how can you be free and liberated? That much is enough to see how my wish is. ♦ Everyone who has left home vows to walk on the path of liberation to save sentient beings, but in the end, they themselves cannot be liberated at all. It is sad for us, not worthy to wear the Tathagata robe. Monks and nuns remember their vows when ordained, not to become self-deceptionists and deceivers. That's not good. We are still struggling, rolling around in the house of affliction, if we can't get out, we have to repent and try to overcome it, we can't just sit there and enjoy the day. If you are a monk or a nun, you must vow to leave the house of affliction. Only then can we truly deserve to be ordained. If you don't practice, then don't give up your parents, leave your relatives, don't do the duties of an ordinary person, seek the way of monasticism, but if you don't fulfill the obligations of a monastic, it's a huge mistake. The fault with the Master, with parents and relatives, with the danna of faith, with the nation of Xa Tac, are you not afraid? When it comes to monastics, monks and nuns must try to fulfill their vows. What is the Tam Thoi Gia? ♦ To the third is to leave the Three Realms. That is to leave the house of the three worlds. The Buddha taught that there are three realms of desire, the form world and the formless world. Cultivators not only leave the defilements of the Desire Realm, but also the afflictions of the Form Realm and the Formless Realm, completely free from samsara, no longer walking in the Three Realms. That's the Three Realms. ♦ Should know that the will of the monastic is extremely high, not ordinary. Our practice is to get out of the three worlds, we vow to come out of the three realms to come to full enlightenment. That is the purpose of saving the glass of the cultivator. So I still have a long way to go. We must try our best, we should not be negligent. Cultivation is to liberate birth and death, not for the next life to be happy and at ease. The Bodhisattvas still have to go through the Ten Faiths, the Ten Pillars, the Ten Actions, and the Ten Dedications towards the Ten Grounds to be liberated, not to mention we haven't taken any steps yet. ♦ The Venerables have praised the practice of ordination: "The monastic life is fake, the general is not capable of vi", that is, the story of the monastic not being able to do martial arts and general literature, but it is illegal. often. Because the will is too great, the road is too long for ordinary people to handle. Therefore, monks and nuns must be very strong and resolute. No matter how difficult the obstacles, they still keep walking without stopping, not retreating. That is the superhuman will of the monastic. ♦ Next, I will explain that the family of the Three Realms, the Family of Defilements, are very consistent with the Three Wisdom Schools and the Three Non-smuggling Studies. ♦ The Three Wisdoms are Literature, Wisdom and Tu wisdom. What is wisdom? After ordination, monks and nuns must study the scriptures. By studying the scriptures, we can open our minds. If you do not study the scriptures, you cannot open your wisdom, because the Buddha taught: "You must light the torch and go. Light it up with the Dharma.” We have a torch available, but it hasn't burned yet, if we can't light it ourselves, we have to ignite it with the torch of the Buddha's Dharma. ♦ To study means to light your unburnt torch with the burned torch of the Buddha, so that your torch is lit. Therefore, if you want to open your mind, you must first study Buddhism. By studying Buddhism, we can understand the truth, see what is false and what is true. That is the first step of a newcomer. Direct learning is learning with the teacher, indirect learning is listening to the tapes of the teachers we believe in, true to the Dharma. It's called Wisdom. ♦ Wisdom is that after learning, we have to reflect on the meaning of what we have learned, not learn like a parrot, listen to a sentence, memorize that sentence and then repeat it again, not understanding anything. We study Buddhism is when we listen to the Buddha's teachings, we must bring our minds to reflect on that sentence, see how true, or where, so that we can be absorbed more deeply. For example, when we hear in the sutras that dharmas are impermanent, we immediately think: What are dharmas? All the things that have form and name in the world. This body is also a dharma, the table is also a dharma, the house to all things with appearances in the world are dharmas. All those things are impermanent. ♦ We continue to ask: Is our body impermanent? This body was born with only a few kilograms, and gradually it weighed sixty seventy kilograms, so it has changed. At about sixty-seventy years old, from sixty seventy kilograms, it drops down next time it dries up and dies. This body is born, grows old, sick, and dies, so it is impermanent, constantly changing every moment. Just one day I was young, now my head is gray, then I don't know when I will be able to collect the clusters, and finally die. Thus our body is always governed by the law of impermanence. Our body is affected by impermanence, so is everything in this world, that is a truth. Thinking carefully so that the reason of impermanence penetrates into his mind. Thus, seeing that knowing as it really is is having wisdom, already being lucid. The Buddha said that this body is impure and unclean. We analyze each part clearly, in the end find that the fruit is right, this body is just stinky skin, has no value at all. Thus, there is no preciousness, no attachment, no pride in the body. I'm beautiful, but I don't dare to criticize bad people. Because they are all stinky skin, no one is better than anyone else. ♦ If we see this right, it is very easy to cultivate. Thanks to Wisdom, our wisdom increases day by day. As wisdom increases, confusion decreases, until it is no longer possible that we are fully enlightened. Cultivation is to break confusion, because it is the root of samsara. ♦ From Wisdom we step through Tu wisdom very easily. Like when I know this body is not good, people will laugh at me, I am not angry. That is less yard, less handicap. Less attachment means less si. Because we know this body is impermanent, so when we are sick or hurt by someone, we remain calm. Because knowing this body is still lost like a game, fear of sadness and anger do. That is progress. So if we want to gain wisdom, we must have wisdom for maturity. ♦ People who are not imbued with the Buddha's teachings how to cultivate. Once I've absorbed it, I've encountered unpleasant things, naturally, I ignored it gently, nothing difficult at all. Because we clearly see the nature of things, the true nature of people is not real, we are no longer confused. That is to go to Tu wisdom. Thus, the Three Wisdoms helps us to advance on the path to liberation. ♦ Next is to talk about the connection to the Tam non-contraband learning. Thanks to the three wisdoms, we can break the defilements. Breaking the afflictions, then proceed to practice the Three doors of liberation. The three liberation subjects are Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom. These three methods of liberation will help us get out of the three realms. ♦ Why Gender? Because the Buddha taught precepts as a barrier, don't let yourself fall into sin. Precepts are often interpreted in terms of Chinese characters, which is Fang phi indicating evil. Prevention is prevention, only stopping. Preventing mistakes, stopping evil things, that's precepts. If you want peace of mind, then stop the sins. When we make a mistake, sitting in meditation, or reciting Buddha's name, we all feel anxious and uneasy. Cultivators have to keep the precepts to keep the mind calm. So Precepts are the first means of progressing to liberation. ♦ Keeping the precepts of the mind to be determined, should be said from the Precepts of Birth Concentration. The delusional mind is the cause of samsara, if this mind stops, the cause of birth and death will also end. The mind of delusion is the idea of karma, it is the root of creating karma. If you can stop it, karma will also stop. Therefore, if you want to escape from the Three Realms, you must stop your mind karma. If the mind stops, the verbal karma will also stop. When you sit in meditation, you will be able to calm down all your thoughts and thoughts. To be determined means to end the birth and death germ. Therefore, sitting meditation or reciting the Buddha's name is a means to bring us to liberation from samsara, not a trivial matter. ♦ We follow the Buddha in order to come to the end of enlightenment. Enlightenment right where you have Buddha nature available. So the first stage of a cultivator is to leave the worldly home. The second stage is meditation to penetrate deeply into morality. The third stage is to cultivate the defilements. Clean defilements without seeing the Tanh is not yet. In order to see the Tathagata, one must pass through three other stages: Precepts, Concentration and Wisdom. ♦ Literature, Tu, Tu are the masters of Tri Huu Tu. Thanks to the teacher who teaches is Van, meditate on what the Buddha taught is Tu, and apply practice is Tu. The three learnings are still within the scope of Master Wisdom. Going forward, we learn the Precepts to protect our mind from creating sin. From Precepts to Concentration, the mind calms down, there is no longer any teacher training here. Through Dhyana, develop Wisdom. This wisdom is the Masterless Wisdom. Masterless wisdom is the basic knowledge, which is available in our own place, which we have not known for a long time. When the mind is completely pure, this knowledge will appear, not having to search far, nor ask anyone to bring it. ♦ Thus, our headquarters is very far away but also very close. Very far away because defilements abound, very near because it's right there with me, and nowhere else. If right in our own place, we can cultivate Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom, then the Buddha will appear immediately. That's why the Buddha once said: "I am the Buddha who has become, you are the Buddha will become." We all have the potential to become Buddhas, just because we refuse to do it. ♦ We keep running after ignorance and defilements, so we lose control. Now putting aside ignorance and afflictions, the right to become a Buddha is in our hands, not far away. Buddhism teaches us to practice is a very practical thing, not a fantasy. Cultivate defilements, then naturally end suffering. When suffering ends, there is peace. Thus, Buddhism is about giving joy and saving suffering to others. Buddhism takes a person from delusion to become an enlightened person, from delusion to enlightenment. That is the heart of Buddhism. ♦ Monks and nuns are those who are rowing boats, to rescue people in the sea from falling to the shore. Heavy or light responsibility? We have to be the ones who wake up first and get to the shore first to be able to bring deluded sentient beings to the shore of enlightenment. Therefore, the building of a temple and a Zen monastery is to buy a boat to save people, not to build a temple, to set up a Zen monastery to collect money, to be honored like this. We must remember that our main purpose is to practice to liberate samsara and help sentient beings to be liberated like us. So everything else is side work, It is a means and a boat to save the enchanted from the wharf. That is the true place, the last place we aim. ♦ Monks and nuns meditate and know what to do. May all of you try to realize the greatest ambition of your life, try to practice diligently, don't let your aspiration be at the top of the blue clouds, but practice is the momentum on the ground. Thus, not only will people laugh at us, but we will ourselves suffer more. Being well aware of their duties and making unrelenting efforts, I am sure that monks and nuns will achieve their goal of saving their lives, which is full enlightenment. our final destination. ♦ Monks and nuns meditate and know what to do.
